Zagato x La Squadra unveils new $700,000 AGTZ twin-tails at FuoriConcorso
Car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the world premiere of his AGTZ Twintail, a stunning creation resulting from the collaboration between Zagato and Las Quadra.
Unveiled at his prestigious FuoriConcorso event on May 25th and 26th, 2024, this limited edition marvel represents the pinnacle of automotive art and engineering.
Zagato was founded in Milan, Italy, in 1919 and has a long history of combining engineering and artisanal skill. The AGTZ Twin Tail, which debuted as a scale model at Zagato's famous Milan Atelier in February, has quickly grown into a magnificent exhibition car. This one-of-a-kind car previews a limited run of only 19 handmade chassis, each exhibiting Zagato's signature ingenuity and beauty.
The AGTZ Twin Tail is a game-changing take on a modern mid-engined icon, with the headline feature being its flexible bodywork inspired by the legendary A220 racing. The A220 was originally intended with a longtail for racing but was eventually modified to a shorttail for a more muscular appearance. The AGTZ Twin Tail expertly combines both configurations, resulting in a versatile and visually appealing design.
The car's exterior is mostly made of carbon fiber, which makes the retractable tail light straightforward to use. A custom-made trolley helps with the conversion procedure, allowing the rear deck to be displayed as an automotive sculpture while not in use. The automobile is 14 feet long when shorttail, and 15.7 feet when longtail. This enlarged decklid not only improves the car's appearance but also its aerodynamics, lowering drag and enhancing high-speed stability. The AGTZ Twin Tail has an estimated top speed of over 155 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in under five seconds. The AGTZ Twin Tail pays homage to the A220's heritage and pursuit of 24 Hours of Le Mans glory, capturing its predecessor's inventive spirit. It will be placed alongside the longtail and shorttail A220 chassis at FuoriConcorso to commemorate the car's lengthy history.
Each AGTZ Twin Tail is limited to 19 instances and is built in a painstaking 1000-hour procedure at Zagato's headquarters, with a 15-week production timetable. Prices begin at $705,000 (excluding taxes), with various customization options available. Customers can select from 19 colors, nine liveries, and a paint-by-sample option. Carbon wheels, panels, a Supersprint exhaust, and upgrades to the 252 hp 1.8L turbo engine, suspension, and brake systems round out the list of upgrades. Production has already begun, and order books are filling up swiftly, with the AGTZ Twin Tail set to make its road premiere in the summer of 2024.
