Juneteenth holiday 2024

The city announces the schedule of services for the Juneteenth holiday 2024.

  June 18, 2024, in San Antonio In celebration of Juneteenth, most municipal offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Emergency services and public safety will continue to run. The following is how other City services will run:

Law enforcement and firefighters

There will be police present.
There will be EMS and fire personnel on duty.

Services in General

  3-1-1 The call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for traffic signal issues and urgent animal problems.
There will be animal care officers on duty.
There will be code enforcement officers on hand for emergencies and inspections.
Visitors using downtown parking will be treated to a holiday for on-street parking meters (off-street garages and lots run by the city are not included in this).
On June 19, outdoor pools will open. Check out SanAntonio.gov/ParksAndRec for locations and operating hours.
Parks and trails in the city will be open.
There will be a few classes in Park and Fitness.
  

Pickup and Drop Off of Waste

Throughout the week, standard collection schedules will be followed for the pickup of garbage, recyclables, and organics.


Facilities & Executive Offices Open

  La Villita and Market Square stores, the SAPD detention facility,
 and the municipal court magistrate services are all open.

The Central Library and every library location
The park reservations office and Darner headquarters
Head Start headquarters and the school district website
The Barrera Community Fitness Center, the Fairchild and McFarlin Tennis Centers, the City of San Antonio Community Centers, and the Natatorium (which is closed for the summer)
Every Metro Health office and clinic
Municipal Court of San Antonio
There will be no access to the Animal Care Services lobby or adoption center.

Senior Diet Websites
Community centers Willie Velasquez, Claude Black, and Frank Garrett
administrative offices of Child Care Services

Administrative offices in La Villita and Market Square; Alamodome Offices and Box Office
administrative offices for solid waste management
The departments responsible for development services, economic development, planning, historic preservation, innovation, neighborhood and housing services, office of the city clerk, vital records, culture commons at Plaza de Armas, Centro de Artes at Market Square, pre-K–4 SA education centers, and corporate office are all included.
The 1800 Wurzbach Parkway Bitters Brush site will close.
Household hazardous waste and bulky waste drop-off locations are in Bitters, Frio City Road, Rigsby, and Culebra.
